Thank you for your interest in the future of oil and natural gas development in New York.

Please follow these links for the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding natural gas exploration. There are details here about the Marcellus Shale and the industry's positions on a variety of issues, including state and federal regulations, hydraulic fracture stimulation and the science of mineral resource recovery. Our industry professionals have a wealth of subject matter expertise in their respective fields and its part of our mission as the Independent Oil & Gas Association to help educate New York State law makers and citizens about relevant issues.

Hydraulic fracturing is a proven, trusted and highly scientific technology used to extract water, oil or natural gas from deep below the Earth's surface. It has been performed 1.1 million times nationwide over the past 60 years and not a single case has ever led to groundwater contamination by fracturing fluids.

Our industry has a proud and safe history of operation in New York State. We are absolutely committed to safe, prudent and responsible exploring for oil and gas, and for the opportunity to spur economic growth in our state and beyond.

Thank you again for your interest.

Sincerely,
Brad Gill
Executive Director
